Lets do lunch - with teddies!

Join hundreds of nurseries and mums by hosting a 'Lets do lunch - with teddies' event this summer!

Last year nurseries, mums and children nationwide enjoyed teddy-tastic events, with tons of fun activities such as teddy bear treasure hunts, face painting and ginger-ted biscuit making, raising £22,000. 

Getting involved this year couldn't be easier, simply register to hold a  'Let's Do lunch - with teddies' party on any date throughout June, July, August or September and Tommy's will send you all the tools you need to make yours the best lunch date in town, including invitation cards, balloons, stickers and sponsor forms.

We'll also help you with lots of ideas to put the fun into fundraising!  In return, each child to take part is asked to make a £1 donation.  You could provide party food, hold party games or do a number of other fundraising activities - from a teddy fashion show to a teddy cake sale!

Why not hold a sponsored event at your party?  Teddies could be sponsored to do an extreme sport - such as parachute or bungee jumping! - or have a sponsored teddy toddle.

Gymboree holds 'Let's do Lunch - with teddies' events

Gymboree, the UK's leading pre-school learning programme is partnering with Tommy's to help make 2008's Let's do lunch - with teddies a huge success. 

From June to August 2008, Gymborees across the UK will be holding Let's do Lunch - with teddies events with all proceeds coming to Tommy's. Each ticket holder will also have their name put into a grand prize draw with over £5,000 worth of prizes to be awarded.

All the Gymboree events will feature lots of fun with party games and activities including parachute fun, bubbles, dancing, music and much more.  Contact your local Gymboree today for details of their local event and to buy your £2 ticket - you could be a winner!

In the bear-ginning...

Let's do Lunch - with teddies is the idea of Tommy's supporter Amanda Phillips who was just 7 months pregnant when she went in to labour,  "My daughter Bethan was born two months premature as I had developed pre-eclampsia.  As a result she weighed just 2lb 15oz and was around the length of a bag of sugar.  Bethan was cared for 24 hours a day by the medical staff in special care and was in hospital for 6 weeks. 

She will be 7 years old on her next birthday and now is a happy, healthy child.  I firmly believe that parents will know of someone who has miscarried, or had a stillborn or prematurely born child and will be willing to support this fun day for their children.  Holding a ‘Lets do Lunch - with teddies' event is a great way to raise funds for Tommy's and help prevent other families and babies going through what Bethan and I did."
