Welcome to Tommy's Media centre

Tommy's exists to save babies' lives - we do this by funding research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

We also provide free information via books and leaflets about healthy pregnancy and conditions such as pre-eclampsia and toxoplasmosis, as well as the three key areas we fund research into. In addition to this, Tommy's midwives run a pregnancy information line, answering pregnancy related concerns from mums to be, parents and health professionals.

In the UK alone:

• 1 in 4 women experience a miscarriage
• 11 babies are stillborn each day
• 134 babies are born prematurely every day

Every two minutes in the UK, a baby is lost - through miscarriage, stillbirth or because they are born prematurely.

Tommy's Press Team 

Tommy's press team provides a comprehensive media service available to journalists and producers, looking for information about the work of the charity. 

This includes our research into the causes of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth, Tommy's information service and campaigns, pregnancy related case studies and statistics.

How we can help? We...:

• offer our expert spokespeople for comment on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth
• issue statements in response to UK led and international research developments, into pregnancy complications and pregnancy health
• facilitate introductions to case studies of families who have experienced pregnancy loss
• have access to high profile celebrity supporters
• provide up-to-date press releases on Tommy's latest campaigns and initiatives
• offer an out of hours reactive press service (limited availability)
